Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology offers skin specialist a way to correct a variety of benign skin conditions, such as the signs of ageing like the fine lines and wrinkles, broken capillaries, skin discolouration, age spots, freckles, mottled pigmentation, dull complexion, the symptoms of rosacea and unwanted hair. The treatment can be used effectively on the neck, chest and hands. It offers a safe, non-invasive solution that can be tailored to your individual concerns and skin type, providing good cosmetic results and satisfaction. This procedure is called a photorejuvenation.
An upgraded version of IPL technology called Optimal Pulse Technology (OPT), has been launched by the company who invented IPL – Lumenis.
OPT can be used for photorejuvenation treatment of pigmentation, freckles, lentigines (age spots) and hyperpigmentation (dark spots) effectively. OPT also helps patients who have long battled with melasma.
Each OPT light pulse the M22 machine produces is able to penetrate skin tissues and create controlled destruction to the imperfections, such as pigments and veins while leaving the surrounding healthy skin and vessels unaffected. Utilising the Square-Off technology, the energy is also distributed more evenly within individual and sub-pulses. This technology drastically maximizes the safety margin during treatment for darker skin, which is so prone to burn injury caused by aesthetic light devices.
With a more distributed emission of the light pulses, M22 OPT can target on the imperfections and clear them effectively. With little (or no) downtime, patients are free to use cosmetics immediately after the treatment. As an added benefit, the M22 OPT also helps to stimulate the production of collagen, which is vital for beautiful, supple skin.
